Windy, dark and drizzly at Sal del Rey this morning. Pretty much the same bunch of birds as have been there all winter. The Wilson's Phalaropes are starting to color up. Five Wild Turkey at 400 yards were a nice county year bird. Seventeen Snowy Plovers was the same number as last time.
This spring fed pond near the shore of hyper-saline Sal del Rey often harbers a few passerines. Today there were Savannah and Swamp Sparrows and Black-and-white and Yellow-rumped Warblers and a Common Yellowthroat.
